Are You Hiring?
The growth of our company depends upon having the right employees, so in that sense, we’re always hiring. But we’re looking for a pretty specific type of person. While having previous window cleaning experience is must, the specifics on the type of cleaners we’re looking for is slightly different depending on whether it’s commercial or residential.
Are You Hiring?
The answer the question of, “Are you hiring?” is that it depends. The growth of our company depends upon having the right employees, so in that sense, we’re always hiring. But we’re looking for a pretty specific type of person. While having previous window cleaning experience is must, the specifics on the type of cleaners we’re looking for is slightly different depending on whether it’s commercial or residential.
Commercial Window Cleaners
Our commercial team is kind of like our commando team. They operate at heights that would make most people very uncomfortable. This group is able to rappel off of the sides of high-rise buildings, operate and work in aerial lifts, and have an innate drive to work efficiently and effectively. We believe in hiring the right people, paying them well for their work, and then getting out of their way. Our management does not really function as oversight but rather as support. But this type of management requires an innate drive on the part of the employee to do their job well. If you know, or you yourself are a high rise window cleaner who is a work-horse and wants to work on a crew of other hard-working folks and would like to be well compensated for your labor, by all means, please contact us! We would love to talk with you more!
Residential Window Cleaners
This is our gentleman (and gentlewoman) crew. These folks need to be able to handle hard work and a then a friendly conversation with the homeowner. Since window cleaning is a discretionary service, we are catering to a high-end clientele. The residential team members have a neat and professional look. They have innate drive to work effectually and with an eye for detail. These crew members can also manage customer relations including customer complaints with ease and a professional calmness. We are in the service business and a happy client is our goal. Because the residential crew has so many opportunities for client interaction, it is paramount that they have the sort of people skills that allow for positive customer relations. If you have previous window cleaning experience, or you have a great eye for detail and you naturally enjoy interacting with people, this might be a good job for you and we’d love to hear from you.
Working Resume
We believe that who you are as an employee and how you might fit into our established crew is a difficult thing to capture on a piece of paper. We offer the working resume meaning that if you have the prerequisite experience and are interested in working for Sky Clean, we will work out a time for you to come work with our crew. You can see how you like it and the crew can see how they like you. Usually these experiences lead to a hire, and they aren’t meant to put any unreasonable burden or expectation on the applicant. It is a relaxed, straight forward experience of… do we think that this might work out for the both us.
How Much Does A High Rise Window Cleaner Make?
Sky Clean’s business model is based off of the principle that we hire the best, pay and equip them well and then get out of their way. We are a certified living wage employer, but we actually think this classification is a little limiting. We strive to provide household supporting wages to our employees. We don’t subcontract out work to avoid paying workers compensation insurance. We don’t try to trick the system to keep our costs down. We simply know the value of good employees and want to ensure their happiness.
If you know somebody or if you are interested in a cleaning job with Sky Clean, please, call or email us!

Deionized Water for Window Cleaning
Before window cleaners used deionized water, they had to have direct access to the windows. This meant that the employees were using ladders, ropes, and lifts to clean the windows. Using a water-fed pole, window cleaners clean up to four stories from the ground level. This method is efficient and timely, thus saving you money and leaving your windows spotless.

What is deionized water and how do you use it to clean windows?
Deionized water is also called demineralized water, DM water, DI water, or DIW. Trace amounts of minerals like sodium & calcium are in tap water. Through electrodionization, the dissolved minerals in regular tap water are removed. We use a TDS meter (totally dissolved solids) to ensure that the filtered water is pure down to a measurement of 0 PPM (parts per million). A brush is used to agitate the dirt from the glass and then it is rinsed completely with the deionized water. When it the glass dries, it is completely spot and streak free. This method is also effective at cleaning window frames and tracks.
So it’s just purified water that cleans the windows… no chemicals?
That’s right. We often only use deionized water to clean the exterior part of your windows, absolutely no chemicals are used. It’s just really, really pure H2O. That means it’s safe for the environment, landscaping, pets, and people.
Sky Clean has multiple deionized water filtration systems that we use on-site. We also guarantee our work. We're not done until you're 100% satisfied. If you’re looking for an environmentally friendly, cost-effective way to get your windows clean, call Sky Clean today!

Working in the Cold
Sky Clean stays in full operation throughout the winter. Any temperature above 32 degrees is workable. Sub-freezing temperatures can be slightly more prohibitive.
Sky Clean has been in operation since 2000 and over the years we have developed many tricks to stay warm and work with water. (Hint, we use a lot of Gore-Tex®.) Sky Clean stays in full operation throughout the winter. Any temperature about 32 degrees is workable. Sub-freezing temperatures can be slightly more prohibitive. Temperatures below 32 degrees are still very workable when it is a sunny day without wind. Under those conditions, the surfaces that we are cleaning are often well above 32 degrees.
But even if the conditions are poor and the temperature is quite low, we can still find ways to get the job done. In the winter of 2013, we worked in such cold temperatures that the cleaning solution was freezing on the inside of the windows as they were being cleaned. But the client needed the windows cleaned that day. So our Sky Clean crew members used razor blades to scrape the frozen windows leaving them pristine and clean!
So don’t let the cold temperatures stop you from having your windows cleaned. During the dark days of winter, it is a good time to have the curtains pulled back and let in as much light as possible. It is our pleasure to provide you with clean windows – all year round!
